Bill started with Akins in 1971 as a manager. He became the owner in 1976 and expanded the company to Santa Clara in 1990. "Bill is the visionary of the company. Everything that Akins is about is a direct result of Bill's creativity, energy, expectations and values," states Ann Rupp, owner. Throughout his 36 years in the business, he has been involved in local, state, and national industry organizations. Bill is an I-CAR Gold Class Professional and A.S.E. certified. He has served as member, trade show chairman, secretary, treasurer, vice-president, I-CAR liaison, and president of the California Automobile Association. He is a member of the National Auto Body Council and the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association. He worked with the Collision Industry Conference, a nationwide open forum, as a Write It Write Committee Local Chairman. Bill's community involvement includes membership in the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce and managing/sponsoring little league sports. He earned special recognition from the Santa Clara Police Officers Association for extraordinary spirit of community cooperation in 1995.

Ann Rupp, AAM
Owner and Operations Manager

Ann's varied background is an excellent foundation for her current position as an owner and operations manager. Ann joined Akins in 1996 after managing a construction company for 12 years as a licensed general contractor. She also taught elementary school for 10 years and coached junior high soccer, basketball, and baseball. "Ann's leadership skills and coaching experience help guide her with her responsibilities at Akins that includes almost everything that happens on a day to day basis," explains Bill Rupp, owner. Ann is I-CAR trained and earned the AAM designation in 1999 as an accredited automotive manager. She is also a member of the Dupont Assurance of Quality Business Council.
